Once in a time long forgotten, the world was shaped by the essence of five powerful elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ice. Each element, embodying its own spirit, roamed freely, infusing nature with their magical energy. When the balance of harmony was threatened by the encroachment of darkness, these elements united, intertwining their powers, resulting in the births of mystical creatures that would serve as Earth’s protectors known as The Elemental Guardians…
These magical guardians arose in response to the merge of elemental powers, each creature symbolizing an intricate blend of their elements. Together, they created a magical network around the Earth to restore and safeguard balance, protecting the beauty of nature from the shadows that sought to consume it.
Long ago, when the world was young, the five elemental forces of nature – earth, fire, water, ice, and wind – came together to form a pact to protect the fragile planet they had helped create. From their combined power, they birthed five magnificent creatures, each imbued with the essence of one of the elements.
The Earth Guardian was a towering, stone golem with a body as unbreakable as the mountains. Its powerful fists could shatter the ground, and it could manipulate the very earth itself, summoning spikes, walls, and pillars to defend against any threat. Alongside the Earth Guardian roamed herds of stampeding stone oxen, their hooves thundering like earthquakes.
The Fire Guardian was a majestic, phoenix-like bird whose wings burned with an eternal flame. It could unleash searing blasts of fire, incinerate its foes, and even take to the skies in a brilliant aerial display. Flocks of fiery phoenixes soon joined the Fire Guardian, their cries echoing like raging infernos.
The Water Guardian took the form of a graceful, aquatic serpent that could liquefy its body and flow like a river. It wielded water as both a shield and a deadly weapon, flooding the land or encasing enemies in ice. Schools of electric eels and schools of razor-toothed piranhas soon became the Water Guardian’s loyal companions.
The Ice Guardian was a towering, four-legged behemoth with a thick, frozen hide. It could fire shards of ice like deadly projectiles and summon glaciers to crush its opponents. Its icy breath could freeze anything in its path. Herds of wooly mammoths and packs of arctic wolves joined the Ice Guardian, their icy roars echoing across the frozen tundra.
The Wind Guardian was a mysterious, avian creature made of swirling air currents. It was the fastest and most agile of the Guardians, able to unleash crushing tornado strikes and ride the sky currents with ease. Flocks of soaring eagles and swift-winged falcons became the Wind Guardian’s aerial vanguard.
Together, these five magnificent Elemental Guardians stood watch over the planet, using their unique martial arts abilities to defend the land, the seas, and the skies from any who would seek to do it harm. When natural disasters threatened, they would combine their powers to restore balance and protect the delicate ecosystems of the world.
Over the centuries, the Guardians continued to shape the world, birthing more creatures imbued with elemental powers. Towering earth elementals, fiery lava lizards, frost wyrms, and raging wind spirits joined the original Guardians, creating a vast, diverse coalition of protectors.
And to this day, the Elemental Guardians and their endless legions remain vigilant, ever-ready to safeguard the world they were born to defend.
Shuffle the deck and deal all the cards evenly between the players.
Each player keeps their cards in a face-down stack in front of them.
The youngest player starts the game.
The player who goes first selects one of the categories on their top card, e.g. agility, accuracy, patience, etc. The other players then compare the value of that category on their own top card to the card played by the first player.
If you are lucky enough to have a Power up card you can use these at any time after the player calls out the ability. Each power card can only be used once and is placed next to their game card when playing the game. Once used these also go into the defeated pile even if you won the round.
The player with the highest value in the selected category wins all the cards played in that round. They place those cards at the bottom of their stack. If there is a tie, the tied players each place another card face-up and compare the next category. This continues until one player wins the round. The winner of the round then selects a category on their new top card for the next round. Play continues in this way, with each player taking turns selecting a category, until one player has won all the cards or the time is up.
